The Burton Overy "Spectaculars" choir are very busy practicing this term for the Leicestershire Community Choir Challenge, "We Sing for LOROS 2017" on Saturday 20th May at St James the Greater , London road Leicester. This is the third event of its kind, organized by Helen Egerton, our own choir leader. Once again, 8 choirs (240 singers ) will perform to a large audience and panel of judges who will choose their favorite performance of the night, presenting the winners with a trophy. Over the previous two years they have raised a total of £17,000 for local charities so hope to once again raise a significant sum for this important Leicestershire hospice.

The event is being kindly sponsored this year by Tarratts jewellers of Leicester. Helen has organized a raffle with fabulous prizes;

  • A watch from Tarratts
  • An overnight theatre experience with tickets for Hairspray, dinner and hotel
  • A Landrover off-roading experience at Rockingham Castle
  • £100 wine voucher for Francis wines... to name just a few!

If you would like to buy raffle tickets please contact Helen on 2591011.

The choir will also be on BBC Radio Leicester on Saturday 6th May to talk about the event and sing a little ditty or two. If you would like tickets for the Community Choir Challenge, please call LOROS on 0116 2318431. They can take payment over the phone and post tickets out to you.

Helen would like to thank everyone in the village for their continued support of our community choir.
