Community Flood Warden - volunteer needed

Nominated volunteers sign up with Harborough District Council and become part of the Community Flood Plan for this area. Direct flood warnings are also received from the Environment Agency which can be passed to neighbours.

Thefts from churches

Over the past few days there has been an increase in rural churches being targeted with lead roofs being stripped and stolen.

Specifically, there have been offences across areas such as Ashby Magna, Theddingworth, Arnesby and Peatling Parva.

Bin collections

Due to the accumulation of snow in some areas of Harborough district this week, some bin collections have been affected.

Harborough District Council's bin collection crews are out today (Thurs 1st March) in some areas and will carry out scheduled collections where it is safe to do so.

Following reports of a number of lambs being killed by dogs in the Harborough District Council area, parish councils have been asked to circulate the following information.

Sheep worrying is a crime and anyone witnessing dogs attacking or chasing sheep should report this to the police.

Harborough Local Plan 2011-2031: Proposed Submission and Consultation on the Status of Scraptoft Local Nature Reserve
