Following receipt of grant aid from Harborough District Council for the installation of the planters near the entrance signs to the village, the Parish Council has recently become a Member / Agent of the Harborough District Lotto.

Harborough Lotto is a weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in Harborough District. All good causes supported by the lottery, which includes Burton Overy Parish Council, will benefit Harborough District and local residents.

Tickets for the lottery cost £1 a week and each ticket has a 1 in 50 chance to win a prize each

week, with a top prize of £25,000.

Each ticket has six numbers between 0 and 9. There is a draw every Saturday night when a six-digit winning combination is picked. Prizes will be given to players with tickets that match the first or last 2 to 6 numbers from the winning combination. Match all six and you win the £25,000 jackpot.

When people buy tickets and select Burton Overy Parish Council as their local 'good cause', 50p from every £1 ticket sold goes to the parish council, 10p is distributed to other local good causes in Harborough with the remainder allocated to prize money and admin costs.
