Recruitment of new clerk / Responsible Financial Officer
Burton Overy Parish Council (BOPC), are currently recruiting for a Clerk to the council, to take effect from the 1st January 2021. This is due to the retirement of the existing post holder. The role will incorporate both the Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer roles.
BOPC are a very small council, comprising of a part-time Clerk and five Councillors who work well with, and are guided by the professionalism of, the clerk. BOPC meet once a month, currently via a Zoom meeting, in the evening. The hours of the Clerk are expected to be 5 hours a week, with 0.54 hours a week paid annual leave, paid at £11 an hour.
Burton Overy is a conservation village, comprising of approximately 120 households. The parish council is very community focused on issues relevant to our village. We take an active role on planning matters and promotion of community spirit through organisation and support of key events and local initiatives. We are very conscious of careful budgeting which reflects value for money for villagers, whilst balancing financial requirements and future development. We keep residents informed through pro-active use of our Website and WhatsApp groups.

The closing date for completed applications is Sunday 25th October 2020. Shortlisting will be completed and applicants notified of the outcome by the 1st November 2020. Interviews are currently scheduled for the week commencing the 23rd November 2020.
