ELECTION INFORMATION.

Are you interested in the work of the council and the future of Burton Overy? Are you a resident or do you work here? On the 2nd May 2019 you can decide who represents Burton Overy. All councillors must stand for re-election, there are 5 seats available in Burton Overy.

It doesn't matter what your background is, the important thing is that you care about the community in which you live or work.

Parish councillors are not paid but can reclaim any expenses. Burton Overy Parish council meets once per month on the third Wednesday of each month. Anyone interested in finding out more is more than welcome to attend any meeting or can contact the Clerk directly on clerk@burtonovery pc.org.uk. There is a lot of information about the work of the council on the website.

On the 20th March nomination papers will be available for anyone wishing to apply to become a councillor. These are available from the Clerk or from Harborough District Council directly.

Three nomination check and hand-in events will be held at different locations across the Harborough District during late March and early April, between 4pm and 6.30pm - Kibworth Grammar School on 28th March 2019, Lutterworth Town Council Offices on 1st April 2019 and Billesdon Village Hall on 2nd April 2019. Nominations can be hand delivered to the Council Offices, The Symingtoin Building, Adam and Eve Street, Market Harborough during normal office hours up until the close of nominations at 4pm on 3rd April 2019.

If you are unable to attend one of the hand-in events but would like an informal check of your nomination papers prior to handing them in please telephone the Elections Team on 01858 821372 to make an appointment.

If more than 5 applications are received, then there will be an election on the 2nd May 2019

The election of 2 Councillors for the Glen Ward will also take place on 2nd May.
