Dog Litter Bins

There are three dog waste bins in the village. One is situated close to the Book Exchange, Main Street, one close to the Village Hall, Rectory End and a third on Town Street. As dog waste goes to landfill, it can also be put in the household black bin.

Dog faeces can cause serious diseases to farm animals, other dogs and wildlife and the eggs of worms and parasites can survive on the ground for a long time, some for up to three years. Please bag it wherever you are.

The National Sheep Association has more advice for dog owners at

A Public Space Protection Order relating to greater dog controls was made on the 1 June 2016 and replaced a number of out of date by-laws and dealt with issues such as dog fouling, and other forms of irresponsible dog ownership.

Sheep Worrying

Sheep worrying is a crime and anyone witnessing dogs attacking or chasing sheep should report this to the police.
