Strategic Growth Plan for Leicester & Leicestershire: Consultation Draft Plan

The nine local authorities in Leicester & Leicestershire, together with the Local Enterprise Partnership, are preparing a Strategic Growth Plan.
The first stage in the preparation of the Plan was the Strategic Growth Statement which was published in August 2016. This was a high level document which explained why the Plan is being prepared, provided a pen portrait of the area, set out some overall objectives and described the types of options that we would be.. Sheep Worrying

Following reports of a number of lambs being killed by dogs in the Harborough District Council area, parish councils have been asked to circulate the following information.

Sheep worrying is a crime and anyone witnessing dogs attacking or chasing sheep should report this to the police.

Burton Overy Neighbourhood Plan - Consultation opens today

Residents and other interested parties are now invited to read the Draft Plan and make comments. There will be a seven-week period to do this (the statutory six-week period has been extended to take into account the Christmas holiday period), commencing on 27 November 2017 and closing on 14 January 2018.

Leicestershire Local Access Forum - Your local footpaths

A research project is being initiated by the Leicestershire Local Access Forum which may be of interest to parishioners.

Leicestershire has a good network of footpaths, not all however fully registered and protected and those not recognised as public by the highway authority could cease to exist on January 1st 2026. There are missing links in the official network, some walked today but others not evident on the ground.. Read More »

Harborough Local Plan 2011-2031: Proposed Submission and Consultation on the Status of Scraptoft Local Nature Reserve

Harborough District Council is consulting on the Harborough Local Plan 2011-2031 Proposed Submission document in accordance with Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2012 and on the Status of Scraptoft Local Nature Reserve.

The period for submission of representations will run for six weeks from Friday 22nd September to Friday 3rd November 2017.
